I was informed that the team will be seeking a trade immediately and will be working with me and my family to find the right place to continue competing for championships. I don’t agree with the decision and always believed it was going to begin and end in LA.
I was informed that the team will be seeking a trade immediately and will be working with me and my family to find the right place to continue competing for championships. I don’t agree with the decision and always believed it was going to begin and end in LA. Still, if there’s one thing that I have learned over the years: there are so many things that are out of your control, but it is how you respond to these things that you will look back on and remember. I have taken so much pride in playing alongside my teammates for the LA community, so thank you for embracing my family and making this such a special place for us. 2024 began with one of the best training camps of my career. Preparations start now for 2025. Highly motivated, as healthy as ever, and looking forward to playing elite football for years to come. Love you guys.. But coming for it all.
Just a real word salad for one of the greatest white wide receivers of this millenium and completely understandable given the emotional circumstances. It blows to learn you’re not apart of the future of something you care very deeply about. And I imagine that’s exactly how Cooper Kupp feels about the Rams: he goes from a high school scrub to the NFL 2021 Offensive Player of the Year and Super Bowl Champion. He’s realized every dream and accomplished every personal goal en route to almost $100,000,000 in career earnings, all while living in gorgeous sunny Los Angeles. That’s good living and it’s no surprise he didn’t plan on leaving it.
Blah blah blah.
The point of this blog is that the Chicago Bears don’t need Cooper Kupp – an obvious fact to many rationale, sane football fans. But also something that’s going to be completely lost on the 670 afternoon caller crowd.
I really think Bagent + Kupp gives you a better chance than Caleb + DJ if we’re trying to be serious about beating the Packers on their home turf
I know we’re heavy at receiver but so was Indy in ’06
Tommy Waddle had some big fuckin balls. I’m just sayin
Loyola. Carmel. Rita. JCA. There’s so many good local high school players that would benefit from having a pro like Cooper Kupp to watch every Sunday
Eagles drafted Cooper DeJean and now they’re in the Super Bowl… just sayin
I have approximately an unlimited amount of these examples in my head. Dave from Schaumburg, you have a strong opinion on the Bears receiving corps…
We just don’t catch it at the point with our hands anymore and I’ve had enough of it. Do what needs to get done to make Cooper Kupp a Chicago Bear
There’s an infinite amount of ways to say you prefer a receiver that reminds you of your nephew. And let there be no doubt, that opinion is only growing stronger with each moment the news is out that he could be traded. No matter how stupid and insane it would be for the Bears to trade for ANOTHER 30-something year old past his prime with injury concerns and a major price tag. One is certainly enough and that’s before we starting questioning our other receivers’ work ethic and family relationships.
So let’s just make quick work of this one and agree Cooper Kupp belongs just about anywhere but Chicago? We agree on that.
^would^
Now let’s further agree there’s a 100% chance he ends up in Green Bay or Minnesota on some sweetheart deal and absolutely fucking dominates us twice a year. Take that to the bank.
Also bankworthy: his college highlight reel. One of my favorite college receiver tapes out there and a good reminder that there’s nothing better than good football tape. Easily the best highlight package out there in any sport:
