I was trying to embed the full NFL youtube video but Roger won’t let me which is complete bullshit. Add it to the list of grievances as we build out CarlsBlogs.com.
First off we can’t use instagram. Then obviously no Facebook or YouTube Free Movies… and now there’s copyright up the butt cheeks that says I can’t give you guys 41 straight minutes of unfiltered 28-3 comeback. All because NFL Films owns the rights and those rights don’t allow for multi-layered digital distribution. So just work with me as I figure this out. I plan on hiring an in-house team of full-time engineers down the road but not right now.
Right now it’s just you me and this 28-3 lead.

I wanted to share this because it’s Super Bowl week and I love Super Bowl week. In fact I think there’s a valid argument that we should replace the Georgian calendar with a modified American version that starts/ends the year on Super Bowl Sunday. Like to me we’re still in 2024 because that’s the 2024 NFL Regular Season. And the fact we have to make this distinction between regular season and Super Bowl years really/kinda bothers me. So why not do the sensible thing and align all calendars and years (fiscal and alike) at the same time? Why not just rally around something we all agree on?
I know theres a lot of pussies out there that don’t like changing things up but just hear me out.
One thing I hate about January is all the distractions after the holidays. There’s so much good football to watch and such shitty weather. So while you want to get healthy and have a fresh year and fresh start, you’re inundated with opportunities to be a degenerate scumbag. By the time conference championships roll around, you’re basically back to your Thanksgiving-version of yourself. Whatever progress or hope that comes on January 1st is all but lost.
After the Super Bowl though… that’s like 6 solid weeks of NOTHING and that’s where you can really implement some changes. You can improve your sleep and your diet. You get to bed earlier. There’s less major gambling events to ruin your anxiety and nobody wants to make plans because sorry we missed each other at Christmas this year. There’s really nothing and no excuse to grab some control of life, which is exactly what the new year should be all about.
That’s why I’m proposing this. Give me a chance to build some momentum going into St. Patrick’s Day and March Madness. Let me calibrate my new years resolutions in a window of time that’s actually good to my schedule and won’t break me so easily like January.
That’s all I’m asking.
PS – I don’t listen to it but I really like Julian Edelman’s podcast. Some of the best clips on the internet are him and former players/coaches bullshitting stories about Belichick losing his mind over something simple and trivial. It’s awesome. Julia Edelman seems like an awesome dude.
Like this is legitimately one of the best clips I’ve ever seen and it’s the first one I looked at to pull as an example. Just fucking incredible
