Holy fuckin balls my friends.
It’s absolutely incredible that nobody died on impact after seeing an explosive fireball erupt from the plane during landing.
I have no idea how planes can be so fragile while still flying thousands of miles at 30,000 feet on autopilot. The balance aviation strikes on functioning aircraft is so delicate that wings just snap off if you land too hard while fireballs shoot into the sky. But there’s no problem circling the north arctic to fly from Japan to Spain in a single day on one tank of fuel. The fact that both realities exist for the same airplane is truly astonishing.
That’s why I get upset when people tell me driving a car is more dangerous. I understand the numbers and the arguments but it’s just a stupid thing to say about air travel. You can’t watch a 737 explode on contact and then tell me it’s actually more safe than my industry-standard Subaru Legacy. That’s the hardest part about air travel for me to believe.
Here’s another whopper I don’t want to believe either.
The media is trying to blame this plane crash on the American government without any consideration for Canadian airspace jurisdiction.
Fact check: the FAA falls under the United States Department of Transportation
Fact check: Canada is not apart of the United States
Fact check: the United States Department of Transportation is one of 15 current departments of the executive branch of government
Fact check: the executive branch of government does not regulate Canadian commercial airspace
Fact check: have a little pride one time
Most importantly though it’s absolutely incredible that nobody died in that plane crash and that’s because 1st responders plain and simple. So instead of shitting on a phantom FAA oversight or politicizing tragedy, maybe lift up the men and women that run to the crash vs. complain about it online.
Those are the best people we have as a society and we need to start talking about that a lot more.
PS – There’s a couple people in critical condition but reports are they’re doing well. I’m saying that because I don’t want you guys to think I’m insensitive for writing off a plane crash with no deaths. It’s actually the complete opposite FYI
