Blackhawks hired a new coach which is obviously on my radar but same time I don’t know shit about this guy or basically any coach in the National Hockey League. And frankly I’ve never pretended otherwise which is why I had no problem crowd sourcing some expertise into this move:

None of this is good at first glance. You miss the playoffs 6 times in a row in a sport where over half the league makes the playoffs? That’s not good.
But that’s again coming from a guy who doesn’t know shit.
So I asked and got some feedback that was really helpful.

My thoughts:
- Sounds like he got a raw deal in Detroit
- I like the idea of him hanging out with this Cooper fella in Tampa and historically speaking Tampa has good strip club culture which translates to a locker room always
- Probably not the 1st 2nd or even 3rd choice but you gotta make the best with what you have
- Bedard probably won’t love this guy but you can win the youngster over with sound play and a competitive roster that compliments his skillset
- Player development guys are usually my favorite guys in baseball so that probably translates well to hockey
- I love a coach that’s working on a 2nd chance. There’s so many mistakes to learn from and you’ve spent 3 years thinking about how you’d do it different. Getting that opportunity again has to mean the world to Coach Blashill and that’s probably my #1 reason to say this is going to work out just fine.
And while I could be wrong, I again have to remind you guys I don’t know shit about hockey. So take it easy on me as I’m trying my best.
Hopefully the Blackhawks can say the same this time next year because all I’ve witnessed is complete and total gutless dogshit for the last few years.
Hopefully Coach Blashill is the guy to change it around.
