The Longest Yard (FULL MOVIE) + May 28th Lineup Preview Blog

I might have already posted this which in case I’m very sorry. I can’t remember. Either way, it’s worth a quick blog before 1st pitch of the Cubs game because it’s one of those movies I will never turn off. I don’t know why I love it so much but I do and that’s not up for debate. Star studded cast obviously helps but it’s also just one of the most underrated football movies ever.

So we can do half now, half after the Cubs game to wind things down. That’s the plan.

Meanwhile the Cubs posted this lineup today:

And quite frankly I think it’s the best lineup of the season and not even close. There’s no room to get better with how well this group is playing together and seeing this 1-9 really ties it together.

  1. Ian Happ – people have bitched about him recently and I think they need to can it because he’s awesome in the leadoff spot for what this lineup needs
  2. Kyle Tucker – probably wearing another uniform next year if we’re being dead honest
  3. Seiya Suzuki – at $19,000,000 he’s easily the most underrated player in MLB not on a pre-free agency deal
  4. Pete Crow-Armstrong – welcome to the 4 hole kid now please stay awhile
  5. Carson Kelly – the fact he’s hitting this high in the order this consistently shows that the front office knows it’s not a fluke that he’s in the 160 wRC+ range
  6. Michael Busch – night in, night out he gives you some of the most professional and dedicated AB’s and he needs to be an everyday guy to keep it steady
  7. Dansby Swanson – the best 7 hole hitter in MLB
  8. Nico Hoerner – the best 8 hole hitter in MLB
  9. Matt Shaw – should win rookie of the year if we’re being dead honest and you’ll have to excuse me for holding him to that standard.

This is your lineup for Wednesday May 28th and I feel very good about it.

Go Cubs and enjoy the first half of the movie.
