Huge series sweep yesterday and I don’t want to hear one word about the offense right now. All people do is complain and all I do is remind you guys this is the big leagues and it’s a pretty hard game.
So hard that we’ve gone 8 years without winning a playoff game. And now we have the best club since then and I would appreciate it if you guys start enjoying the process.
That means gutting out tough 2-1 victories against the league’s worst team.
That means only scoring 9 runs in 3 games against a 9-46 team and still winning all 3 games.
That means growing a pair of balls and not complaining about good hard victories when you need good hard victories to win a World Series.
So please. Again. For the last time. Enjoy the process of winning Major League Baseball games even if it’s not exactly how you drew it up from your suburban couch.

- Lighter day on the blog today because I’m subbing in the district 218 golf outing with my brother Kevin and that’s always a good day on the course with family and old work friends
- I used to work in municipal 3rd party service contracts and for a long time spent my summers at approximately 30-40 golf outings and in reflection those are the best work days of my life. Barstool was a lot of fun especially during COVID but having 3 straight months of being The Golf Outing Guy for your boss’s practice group is still unmatched
- It’s an Off Day for the Cubs around Chicago which means good opportunity to bang your old lady and get some extra rest around the house
- Ian Happ is 100% playing golf today
- Jameson Taillon is 100% looking for Pokemon collectibles
- Weather is still a little chilly and I encourage you to go check out Mahoney’s weather reports on twitter when you get a chance. I’ll blog that later today.
- I have been grinding through Andor Season 2 and it really bothers me how much people like this Star Wars content. I think it’s good enough but we’re so far past the point of Star Wars that I don’t even know what the fuck is going on. We’re talking about laser swords and space fights and wizardry. It’s supposed to be over the top ridiculous and instead I’m in a French Resistance inspired rebellion? For real guys fuck off. We’ve gotten so narrow and deep and serious and it’s really just a bummer because I like my Star Wars content to be fun and fast paced.
- That said I still have 6 episodes left so I could find some huge emotional connection down the stretch but overall that’s just not the point of the content. I can go to church if I want to think hard about morality. Does that make sense or am I just becoming the world’s biggest hard ass into my late 30’s?
- I’ll probably end up LOVING Andor by the end of this season. I just wanted to get that off my chest.
