It’s -18 degrees outside right now and I cannot leave the house. I’m sick and tired and hungry and overall just feeling like a huge pussy right now. Even with the Cubs signing Justin Turner and me about to announce Sterk Family Farms alongside CarlsBlogs.com. There’s a lot of exciting things in life and then I just get mollywhopped with a week of negative temperatures at the worst time.
I need a lot of time outside. I need fresh air and nature and animals and a decent sweat. I need sunlight and smells and Scottie Puppen off his leash on the trail sniffing stuff. I need basically the complete opposite of what life is giving me right now and it’s absolutely killing me.
Going to the gym feels like climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro and I don’t even know what country much less continent that mountain range exists. I just know it’s really tall and that it would kill me pretty easily.
That’s how I feel about getting in the car right now.
I have no idea how construction workers are doing it. Or the cart guy at jewel who’s gonna bulldoze that parking lot for 10 hours with a bad lunch break.
I talked earlier today about how 1st responders are best society has to offer. I would like to say #2 on the list are people that have to work outside in the elements when it’s super hot or cold. There’s no amount of gear or job training or circumstances that could help me function outside today and that’s because I’m weaker than you.
So be it.
