CONFIRMED: Ashton Jeanty Is Ready To Be A Chicago Bear

I have no idea where I stand on the Bears draft strategy going into tomorrow night. I have vague memories of starting with the trenches but that’s all gone to shit over the last couple weeks. Whatever principals I originally began with are long gone due to a combination of things: trades, free agency, player evaluations, etc.

Now as I type this, I’m convinced Ashton Jeanty is the perfect guy if available at 10 for no other reason than he’s already trash talking Green Bay with a smile on his face like he’s speaking directly to us.

Or am I crazy?

That’s the face of a guy who knows where he’s headed on draft day. Something’s been worked out already between his agent and the Bears and the NFL just can’t announce it because that would eat into the marketing aspect of the draft. No leaks allowed. But that doesn’t mean back room deals and back channels are summarily outlawed. Obviously something has gone down behind the scenes and that something is Ashton Jeanty to the Chicago Bears. I’m convinced and nobody can tell me otherwise.

Only question I have now is do we need to trade up or does he fall to us at 10? If we trade up then please commit only picks in 2026 and beyond. And if he falls to us at 10 then we’re playing with house money in the 2nd round. At that point we can get extremely weird in the trenches on both sides of the ball because we just got a hall of fame running back and we’ve already re-tooled the interior of the line. So let’s have some fun and make a couple reaches right?

This is the reckless attitude I want to embrace as a diehard Bears fan. I’m sick and tired of trying to be patient and get the right interior linemen and watching the rest of the division run circles around me. We already got the center and the two guards so let’s just round out the best offense in the division for Ben Johnson and get the running back now.

Or again – Am I Crazy?

I could be.

All it took was a simple yet completely unnecessary shot from Ashton Jeanty towards Green Bay for me to think he knows something we don’t. And while that’s a big reach, I think we all agree that he could and should know stuff we don’t. There’s stuff to know and we don’t know it. And maybe that’s just enough for me believe he knows what we don’t – that he’s coming to the Chicago Bears.

Or finally, again, maybe I’ve just lost my mind.

Either way the Bears are picking 10 tomorrow night and I think Ashton Jeanty would be a really nice fit.
