I don’t want to make a huge deal out of this because then one of you guys might hack me again. But I basically just went into the Matrix this morning and rewrote my code to protect the blog. Something about a 508-c error with resource limits because my traffic got spiked because apparently too many people want to know the correct power rankings for Wrigleyville bars.
Or something like that.
Point is I’ve been hunched over the computer for the last hour scrambling to save everything I’ve built from being taken down by Ukrainian refugees using free WIFI from an eastern bloc KFC.
And if you think I’m joking, I’m not. I was writing about tendinitis cause and effects on Justin Steele when the site goes dark and one of those Anonymous voices came up on my screen essentially asking me for my life savings. I could be embellishing some small parts here but you get the point: I am Cyber Carl and I will not be stopped by any amount of errors.
Which reminds me. Would you rather have your identity stolen or your computer hacked? Would you rather someone open a credit card in your name and destroy your personal finances for an extended period of time? Or would you rather have your entire computer and passwords compromised for an undisclosed period of time including your search history?
I don’t know either but apparently NASCAR’s being held hostage right now as we speak
NASCAR has been targeted by the Medusa ransomware gang, which demands a staggering $4 million ransom. NASCAR was reportedly listed on the gang’s dark web leak site. Medusa threatened that a failure to meet payment demands would result in the leakage of NASCAR’s internal data.
Times are dangerous right now.
It was exhilarating fixing the website but nobody tells you that you need to be a web administrator to run a blog these days. This is one of the costs I take on from not using substack or one of the main blogging sites. This is what you get for customizing your own user experience: shoddy security protocols and a Thursday morning riddled with anxiety.
Anyways just wanted to let you guys know I’m 1-0 when someone tries to hijack the site traffic.
I’ll be back at 11am with that tendinitis blog.
Keep Fighting the good fight Carl we need this blog now more than ever
