Get that shit through your brain is my new favorite way to sign off a video.
And as a Cubs fan I’m in literal stitches with how angry and funny this video is.
It’s real. This isn’t a joke. People from the southside are sincerely obsessed and psychotic about the White Sox to the extent that they seriously hate Cubs fans.
Do we hate them?
Absolutely not and that’s what makes it so great. We cause so much pain and suffering in our mere existence. That’s great.
But to be clear and fair. @Mac74King is right about everything he’s saying. The White Sox truly represent the community and are on the Mt. Rushmore of local connection in American pro sports and idk who else is on that fuckin list but I would say it’s the White Sox at the top.
Anyways it’s much funnier reading through it. I loved watching the rant but reading it is even better.
It’s crazy that this video even needs to be made. We got a debate going online here between White Sox fans. Is it all is it always fuck the Cubs or not? We know it’s always fuck the Cubs. The Cubs should never be cheered for, rooted for, no hope for success, no being happy for your Cubs fan friend, none of that.
Cubs fan boyfriend girlfriend, none of that. You in violation as a White Sox fan. And you deserve to be brung up on charges. It’s absolutely ridiculous. We don’t root for that side.
We Southside. They Northside. We don’t cross that line. That’s crazy. I don’t even understand why this is a debate because the white sox means so much more to us as southsiders.
It’s our local team. As the once mayor Daley said, “That’s my team.” Southside represent blue collar. Hard work. Lay your bootstraps up. Get busy.
We do a lot of work, but never no respect. No matter what we do, we’re viewed as the second class citizens. How a white sox team is viewed as the second team. They represent more to us. They represent how we grew up.
They represent the culture. Y’all talking about if it’s fucked up up. Cubs or not. It’s always fucked the Cubs. That’s the way it should always be.
One thing about the South Side, you got the Irish over there in Bridgeport. You got the brothers and sisters in Bronzeville, Englewood. You got the Polish over there in Hedwig. You got the Lithuanians once upon the time in Marquette Park. You got the Mexicans in the back of the yard in Gage Park, man.
We may not even get along, but guess one thing that bring us together is the White Sox. Because we South Side. When you see somebody and they ask you where you from, you go out of town where you from, who you representing. You White Sox or Cubs. That’s what they act.
If you Southside, if you say you White Sox, they know you Southside. It’s for the culture, mate. And we ain’t going. I ain’t going for that bullshit. People wanna be nice wimping simps.
Wanna try to act like, oh, no. Fuck that. It’s always fucked because, man. Get that shit through your brain.
Personally I have a lot of experience on both sides of the equation. I grew up in a White Sox house raised by a diehard White Sox fan and he just isn’t even remotely amused by the Cubs. I can’t explain how little my father cares about them. It’s like they don’t even exist. So many uh-huh, that’s nice any time they come up. The man mentally checks out like he’s got PTSD. Never any anger or trash talking. Just this distant stare like you’re speaking Korean and he’s just trying to order a hamburger from a Wendy’s.
But he’ll sit and watch them with us. God know what he’s thinking about while the game is on but he’ll sit there and watch. So that was always nice.
Otherwise though every White Sox fan I know basically hated my guts for being a Cubs fan growing up. In hindsight there were only 3 Cubs fans in my entire high school and everyone thought we were gay losers and that includes most faculty & staff.
Sosa’s corked bat was a dark time and now we’re really getting past the point that I think it’s a great rant that perfectly explains why White Sox fans hate Cubs fans. So shoutout Mac74King for a good rant. That’s good shit
