From Facebook:

I felt like the price difference between a McRib and a McRib meal was too high.
So I made a spreadsheet and compared item to meal prices of every meal available at my local McDonald’s.
Medium fries are $2.89, and a medium drink is $1.49. For a total of $4.38.
So, there are 4 meals where it is cheaper to buy each item individually rather than the meal. The McRib is one of them.

I just wanted to share this and raise some awareness as we begin Lent here on Ash Wednesday.
Turns out the Filet-O-Fish is cheaper if you get the fries and drink individually then if you get the value meal.
I think they do that because they assume Filet-O-Fish guys like me are rich and we can afford it. If you look top down from that menu, you’ll notice the poor people items start up top. Only the fattest and most pathetic of us are getting the triple cheeseburger.
Work your way towards the bottom and you’ll be rewarded with the best McDonald’s has to offer.
Filet-O-Fish is crispy and nutritious. The flavor holds with each bite. The cheese/tartar combines for a delightful texture. A perfectly warm and toasted sweet bun. And it’s one of the healthier sandwiches across all of fast food restaurants, any menu. So there’s a lot to like about the Filet-O-Fish and now that meat’s off the menu for the next couple Fridays, I thought it would be important to raise awareness.
I remember my first Filet-O-Fish vividly. I was 13 years old and my dad brought home McDonalds for dinner on a Friday in lent. I told him I didn’t want the Filet-O-Fish and he told me that was my only option. I said I was hungry. He said eat the Filet-O-Fish. I said I don’t like Filet-O-Fish. He told me that I didn’t have to eat it. I said I was hungry. He said then eat the Filet-O-Fish. I said I don’t like Filet-O-Fish and then he lost his mind on me. I started crying and then took a sympathy bite of Filet-O-Fish and it was delicious.
I’ve never apologized or turned faster in my life and it’s a good learning lesson for me to this day. Sometimes when I get nervous or anxious, I remember that Filet-O-Fish and how much I enjoyed it.
I remember that sometimes all you have to do is stop being a huge crybaby pussy and just take a bite of the fish sandwich.
And you guys should remember throughout this Lenten season that it’s cheaper to buy the value meal items individually than it is to package it as a traditional meal.
