Not a huge deal here. Got some stuff to do for Sterk Family Farms this morning and just wanted to use the opportunity to remind everyone that there’s a new Monday Morning Cubs Show where my favorite topic is Justin Turner’s role on the team and why he’s so important in my opinion.
I won’t spoil it here but the general premise is that every great team has a seemingly unnecessary senior statesman that the manager loves. In this case it’s Justin Turner. In more a familiar case, it’s been David Ross and this year I’m making a similar sentimental argument towards Turner. He’s so good with other players and picking up stuff from the dugout and generally fostering good big league culture throughout the year.
That stuff is really important when you consider how much time these guys spend together, especially on the road and hanging around the field not doing shit. Good leadership is worth more than anyone will ever admit and that’s how I see Justin Turner.
Going 3-4 last night only makes it that much better.
