X – The Milwaukee Brewers have unveiled a commemorative jersey patch for the 2025 season to honor the late Bob Uecker, the iconic broadcaster affectionately known as ‘Mr. Baseball.’ The patch, designed with a circular baseball pattern and incorporating Uecker’s signature yellow and blue plaid, will be a fixture on the players’ uniform sleeves starting from Spring Training. This tribute has resonated deeply with fans and commentators alike, celebrating Uecker’s enduring legacy in baseball. The design not only commemorates his unique style but also his significant contributions to the sport and the community of Milwaukee.

Nevermind that’s close enough.
Love the flannel pattern to commemorate a guy who wore and loved flannel. Or is that just considered routine plaid? I’m not good at fashion, I just know that Bob Uecker would have done some damage in a leisure suit of that style. As a MILF aficionado, I can personally guarantee Bob Uecker would be knee deep in some fine older trim on the hour every hour. One of baseball’s great cocksmans for a number of years.
It’s sad he’s dead now. Especially for Brewers fans that listened to him call so many games over the years. We get so attached to our sports voices and we don’t really see it coming until they’re no longer around. Like I’m still made Len Kasper left the Cubs to call White Sox radio. He is literally so much better than Boog Sciambi that just thinking about right now raises my blood pressure and cortisol and pisses me off. All because I have to listen to a different guy talk about my baseball team while they play.
Bob Uecker’s situation is different because he never retired. He literally worked until he died and now someone’s gotta fill those shoes? I do not envy the man with that job. People in Wisconsin will be nice of course but you know deep down that nobody wants to hear you when they had Uecker for 54 years. No offense to whoever you are but that’s just a fact. The ghost of Bob Uecker will haunt your play by play no matter how hard you try.
So at least the Brewers – a traditionally stupid organization – is smart enough to invest in such a nice commemorative patch. I know it may sound like I’m being facetious but I’m actually being dead serious as a big commemorative patch guy. They’re hard to do well because you want them to stand out while still blending in. It has to be apart of the uniform while still being distinct and commemorative. The worst thing is a loud patch that distracts from the overall theme and message and spirit of the uniform.

That would totally suck to look at if you know what I mean.
Anyways RIP Bob Uecker. You would’ve really liked your patch.
That patch screams class.
