The Monday Morning Cubs Show Is LIVE

GOOD MORNING GOOD AFTERNOON AND GOOD EVENING CHICAGO CUBS FANS

The Monday Morning Cubs Show this week is now live and just a couple quick words on the matter:

  • We’re slower on the blog last week and this week as we make preparations for 2nd half YouTube show that would run Tuesday-Thursday at 10am. I am not announcing anything because I have to write the show and it’s supporting segments, then design the graphics and then test pilot it and then make edits. And I don’t even know if it’s a good use of my time yet but I’m trying and we’ll just have to figure it out
  • I like this blog and I love writing more than anything else but I want to add more layers to the content. So as I’ve said before, will say again now and encourage you to remember forever – thank you very much for your patience as I sort this out. Notwithstanding Mahoney, this is a one man band
  • That said the Cubs are in the best spot I can possibly remember and this show is one of the most positive and happiest I can ever remember talking about the Cubs for 9 seasons now
  • The BIGGEST question I have is whether we can find a starting pitcher that would go above Shota or Boyd in a playoff series. I don’t know who that is right now and that’s why I’m inclined to keep Caissie in the organization until the winter. There’s no need to move our #1 bat for a #3 for a couple months. The considerations are so big and severe that I can just keep it simply to: what pitcher available would pitch before Shota or Boyd? I don’t know and that’s why I’m more hesitant.
  • Another question is whether or not PCA is very good or one of the all time greats. I know that’s a preposterous thing to be talking about but just hear me out. Because he’s grading out like Willie Mays and putting up numbers like Barry Bonds. So is he that guy? Is he a 9+ WAR player? Or is he a 6 WAR player that’s just on the heater of a lifetime? I have no idea to be honest but I’m leaning towards one of the All Time greats based purely on lack of experience but incredible success
  • Dansby Swanson has been so good the past week and I just want to remind people that he only gets better as the season progresses. It’s in his blood. He lives for late season baseball. Please join me in obsessing over him and save yourself the pain and anguish of thinking he sucks because he does not suck
  • There’s a lot more to say but that’s why you host a show with Mahoney = so I can say it. There’s a lot to get to so please go check the show out if you like the Cubs and don’t be bashful to answer any of the questions we posed today.
  • Mailbags from today:

God Bless and Go Cubs!
