I was playing sand volleyball the other night with some close pals in the neighborhood when I saw quite literally the #1 sign you could possibly be looking for with respect to a Cub postseason run. And honestly guys this is the exact kinda stuff you need to make it through MLB playoffs. You need magic. You ned the cosmos. You need to be ROLLING
It’s one of my favorite sayings.
WE ARE ROLLING BABY.
I started saying it in March 2011 on Yacht Week in the BVI’s. We hired a driver for the first day on the island and he was a complete lunatic rifling through side streets at 50mph. Slamming the brakes. Ripping turns. Honking his horn and screaming out the window like a looney bin. The whole time repeating the same phrase in heavy Carribean twang: WE ARE ROLLING.
It became the phrase of the trip. In your early 20’s, you do shit like that. And some times it sticks for good and this is one of those times.
14 years later and I am happy to announce that we are still, in fact ROLLING along with the 2025 Cubs. It’s become my season mantra and anyone who listens to MMCS knows this. It’s the highest peak you can seek.
So imagine my fucking surprise to see this gorgeous Mustang parked behind the sand volleyball court the other night.
A night I specifically planned with friends and family in our neighboring park because the Cubs are off this week. Part of my effort to get away from baseball this time of year and spend a random night hanging out, having a seltzer and playing some sandy and listening to music. We’re literally away from the Cubs for the week on purpose and BANG.

That’s how you know it’s gonna be a special season folks.
