It’s President’s Day in America which has me thinking about how lucky we are to be Americans. At least I think that’s the point of President’s Day otherwise it seems like a silly holiday. We’re not remembering Veteran’s or those who paid the ultimate sacrifice. You don’t celebrate religion or even cater to the kids with activities. In that spirit it might – be the worst holiday on the board when you consider the full criteria save for the day off work and related commuter times for those who still have to go into the office. Earth Day and Flag Day will never give you that kinda action. So that’s nice about President’s Day.
The other nice thing is we didn’t grow up living in Kowloon, Hong Kong. From the looks of this documentary, it would absolutely suck.
The fascinating thing is that the British just owned Hong Kong? That had to be the craziest time to be a human being. Countries taking over countries with impunity so they can get a better price on tea and spices. That’s arguably more barbaric than Genghis Khan or Alexander the Great. The fact they started a drug war to get leverage on tea-time should be talked about a lot more but I digress. My point is that I’m reflecting on President’s Day how great it is to be an American.
Watch the above video and you will feel the exact same.
Another thing I’m lucky for is CarlsBlogs.com making it to the 3rd week of publishing.
I’m doing my best to get a schedule figured out that’s consistent and repeatable. Last week I went 75 minute intervals on the blog after 1-hour intervals the first week. I think this week I’m going to push back to 90 minutes to write better stuff. That means 8 scheduled blogs a day and 40 a week – about 20% less than I originally anticipated for the schedule.
I’ll try this week and hopefully make a public announcement over the weekend in conjunction with Sterk Family Farms. We had a big weekend in the test kitchen working on new textures and labels and scents and everything in-between. I can’t say enough good things about Mrs. Carl’s passion for the project and how much fun it’s been cooking up for you guys. So thanks for helping me get to this point and supporting me along the way. It means more than I can explain.
Now let’s go have a great week.
UPDATE PS at 12:30pm – I got very sick after writing this blog. I’ve been puking and borderline unconscious. I think I have Noro or COVID or something nasty. Sick as a dog. Absolutely sucks.
