Today is Wednesday March 19th and I hope everyone has a wonderful day.
The NCAA Tournament started last night and had a marvelous finish in the 16-seed play-in game.
So I figured it would be a nice and easy transition to hit you guys with 10-minutes of the best March Madness buzzer beaters all time (PRE COVID ONLY).
Couple Notes:
- I think the sweetspot for college basketball started with Shane Battier and eded with Tyler Hansbrough. Of course that could also just be when I was 10 years old to 22 – when core sports memories are molded and shaped for eternity. But overall I would have a very hard time listening to arguments for another era spanning 10-12 years as the best in college basketball.
- Pretty impressive I just made that point without referencing the Dee Brown days at Illinois
- I’m warming up to play-in games as official games in the NCAA tournament and it’s only taken about 10 years for that happen. Even so – I still consider Thursday the start of the 1st round and the opening day of the tournament no matter how much the NCAA wants me to feel otherwise
- I woke up at 4am again today to watch the Cubs lose a very winnable baseball game and I won’t be back in bed until maybe midnight and that’s okay. Why?
- Tonight is an official Bi-Monthly Pizza Club meeting and I’m charter member, so it’s kind of a big deal. We meet the 2nd-to-last Wednesday of every odd numbered month to eat thin crust pizza in the Chicago suburbs. Tonight there’s a group of 4 meeting by O’Hare for some above average thin. Obviously I’ll report back
- Trey Anastasio concert was elite last night. I’ll find the space to explain more later. Overall just feeling really lucky and blessed to have seen him play a solo acoustic show at the Chicago Symphony Hall with my favorite people in the world
- Nobody cares about my taste in music
- I’m looking forward to the Cubs coming back to Spring Training and hopefully improving from the bullshit we witnessed in this Tokyo series
- Nobody cares about the Tokyo series right now
Last and most important thing:
I’m sorry for missing the MILF yesterday. I scheduled Beyonce in the afternoon but didn’t hit SAVE DRAFT after scheduling. So it sat in my outbox last night and that’s unacceptable. Truly. I’m dedicated to keeping the schedule I promised and I don’t want you guys to think otherwise.
So I’m very sorry for missing the spot.
