Wake Up With The Longest Home Runs Of The Cubs’ Statcast Era

The Bulls got absolutely fuckin smoked last night and it sucked. I didn’t think I would care and then next thing you know they’re down 24 in the 3rd quarter and I’m pacing the living room like a real asshole. Even when you don’t care because the Bulls completely suck, I still find myself distraught with the state of Chicago sports. Good thing is I see a bright future for no other reason than Caleb Williams stole the show last night courtside. We can talk about that later.

For now I just wanted to kick off our Off Day with the longest Cubs HR’s of the statcast era because I like watching Kyle Schwarber smash baseballs to pluto. Funny to think he was once a Chicago Cub.

Wasn’t that long ago either

No shit.

Some other programming observations:

  • Mahoney and I originally planned for a Cubs show on Off Days. But then we did that to start the season and it made the show on Monday a little less enthusiastic, which I don’t like because I think it’s a bad sacrifice for quantity over quality. So we’re gonna real it in to 1 show a week for now until it makes sense for more. Thank you for your patience.
  • We have 5 more games against good baseball teams and then it’s really smooth sailing for the next 5 weeks
  • No late night west coast games until deep into the 2nd half which is a great gift from Rob Manfred. The first couple weeks obviously sucked with 10 of our 20 games played at stupid hours like 5am or 9:10pm. Now we settle down and soak up the 1:20s and the 5:40s and 7pms like normal functioning baseball fans.
  • I got bad sleep last night but will make the best of today regardless
  • The Miami Vacation of 20225 begins in 10 days and that’s going to be awesome because I love Miami and exploring places with Mrs. Carl. That’s our bread and butter. Drop us anywhere with a limited budget and in 3 hours we’ll have a full square mile canvassed and network, probably with a good buzz and a handful of new friends. That’s how we’re programmed together and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
  • Daniel Palencia was throwing some big premium cheddar yesterday around 101. Almost forgot about that. We like to see that a lot especially if we ever gets a 2nd pitch figured out consistently.
  • Little chilly here on the farm but if the sun breaks later then I’m walking down to the golf course for a healthy bucket of short iron drills
  • Lastly and most disappointing, I didn’t get to take my long walk yesterday and it’s starting to add up and bother me. So let this serve as a promise and commitment to get at least 3.5 miles today on the trail WITH PICTURES for the 3:30pm blog. Otherwise I gotta stop talking about the walks until I start walking my talk. You know what I mean?

Everybody have a great day and please:
