Personally I got some floppy Hydrangeas in the front lawn that I’m trying to prune to appropriate height so they can continue to flourish deep into a warm fall. It takes more time than I could have imagined. And quite frankly I’m not a naturalist with respect to gardening. Everything is learned. Everything is practiced.
If you’re in the same boat, then this lady Kelly is a perfect fit. And just the right amount of New Jersey to her that I would never question or doubt what she says for fear of being slapped.
I like it rough.
So check that out if you got bad bushes that need rehabilitating.
In other news, this is what we’re cooking up today:
- I’m going downtown to see one of my best buddies for a couple beers today and catch up. He was just in Nashville visiting with 3 of our college teammates and I am now at the age where I want to hear stories about my friends handing out together. I want to hear about the babies and the wives and the renovations and all that. And to me that feels good.
- I’ve enjoyed getting older. Very much. I like going to bed at 10pm and getting up at 5:30am and just sitting. I think that’s my favorite thing to do right now: sit.
- I did a Cubs show last night and I basically convinced myself we’re going to the World Series. I think we have a much better team and club than anyone else in the National League and that includes the Dodgers.
- Fuck the Dodgers
- British Open (The Open Championship) is rolling along right now and it’s fun to watch this tournament because so many guys fuck up around the greens. I like that kinda pain and suffering so much more than long rough and narrow tee shots. Give me the chunk wedges and 3 putts off the green. Give me emotional turmoil.
- I wish I liked Justin Thomas more but that’s a different blog
- My dad gave me a book recently about the Battle of Midway but it’s written from the Japanese perspective and apparently it’s a much different account than the American side. I’m kind of nervous to read it because I hate red pilling WW2 but same time it’s really interesting given the depth of research that goes into this stuff. It’s called Shattered Sword if you’re into that kinda stuff.
- A delivery driver just made a 3 point turn on my front lawn and I think I’m going to explode as I type this so if you’ll excuse me I’m going for a walk to cool down. Ripped up the grass and everything. Fuckin animal.
