This is a 5 year old video with almost no immediate relevance and even so I love it. So I’m sharing it here in the 2pm as nothing more than a 4 minute time suck as I get ready to record my Cubs season preview podcast with Mahoney. So excuse me for mailing in the 2pm slot today but we have to be nimble at CarlsBlogs and wear a lot of hats some times. Today that means recording and publishing the first Morning Cubs Show of the season so we have to take some creative liberties. Hopefully you understand the sacrifices I’m willing to make to keep this bird in the sky.
With that in mind, I think Tiger woods should have a lot more than 14 majors. One of the greatest What If’s in sports history is him changing that swing with Hank Haney and then falling apart a couple years later. I sincerely believe if he just stays with Butch Harmon and outpowers the field then we’re talking about 100+ career wins instead of debating where he compares to Jack Nicklaus in the record books. And for no other reason do I wish Tiger kept the same swing because there’s nothing worse and I mean NOTHING WORSE than G.O.A.T. debates.
You want to debate thin crust pizza? You have my attention. Same thing goes for dive bars, soft drinks, buffalo chicken sandwiches and so many more things.
But once it turns towards Total Athlete Rankings in a given a sport, you’ve lost me and I’m not coming back.
So let’s just agree on this:
Tiger Woods is one of the great MILF hunters of his generation and we like that a lot.
But is he #1 all time?
