This is the 5pm slot which is normally reserved for Cubs News & Notes. But I figured it would make more sense to take a step back and welcome everyone to CarlsBlogs.com first.
So welcome.
Here are some programming notes.
- We do traditional Wake Up blogs at 8am and then post every 90 minutes until 6:30pm central
- We always finish with a MILF at 6:30pm
- Blogs are posted Monday-Thursday so I can volunteer on Fridays and get loaded on Saturday
- I’ve kept this blog since February 3rd and this is the 170th blog so we’ve been keeping a nice pace
- The Cubs will take up about 30% of the blogs
- I like to blog so this should be a very fun exercise until it isn’t, at which point I will stop
Most important thing
This blog is brought to you by Sterk Family Farms which is a Non Toxic skincare company started by my wife Nicole. She makes beef tallow balm for people with really bad skin because her husband (me) has really bad skin. So a couple years ago we started making stuff in the kitchen after she was listening to a podcast about natural home remedies that could help people like me with bad skin. That was a couple years back. Since then we’ve spent a lot of money on a tallow balm subscriptions that have helped but weren’t overwhelmingly special. So we kept making our own and then one day we got introduced to a guy that could sell us enough beef to make enough jars to start a business. That was last year, so we started buying more and making more and then selling to our friends and family.
It went well enough that when Dave Portnoy told me my contract would not be renewed in 2025, I knew exactly what I wanted to do with Sterk Family Farms. We incorporated the business, filed all the paperwork and signed up for the local farmers markets.
So this is a huge step away from what I know traditionally, and that’s probably why I like it so much. Nicole can focus on her bad ass consulting career while I try my hand at growing the family business slow and steady.
On that subject, I couldn’t think of a better use of my time coming out of Barstool Sports. Notably because my wife has been so unbelievably supportive and cool for so long through so much ridiculous and stupid bullshit. So much that the best way to reciprocate my appreciation is to be her little bitch on this skincare business. So that’s what I’m going to do, ball-gag and all.
From a mechanics standpoint, the most obvious way for me to spread awareness about Sterk Family Farms is to make this blog and talk about Chicago Sports and build the podcast with Mahoney and just hang out and do what I like to do. It’s really not that complicated to me.
There’s a bunch of stuff I want to do and I think this is a good step in that direction.
One thing I want to avoid is talking shit or being negative about the guys I used to work with because that’s a lousy use of my time. That’s the only thing I care to say about that or them as you can do your own math.
For now I just want to say thank you for showing up. You’ll see I wrote a lot during February and will plan to do the same into the future. The reason and purpose and genesis can be explained later or not at all because it’s not that important.
What’s important is that you have a place to scroll when you take a dump, and that place isn’t a complete cesspool of the internet’s worst. That’s what I’m trying to accomplish with CarlsBlogs.com and I’m confident we can get there together.
Now if you’ll excuse me we’ve got a MILF to post for 6:30pm.
Good to see you doing your thing Carl. Looking forward to the Cubs this yr.
Let’s go! I’m diving into the Cubs blogs now buddy!
