Spoiler alert: Cubs win in 9th inning on a walk-off from Justin Turner. You may have heard or seen but that doesn’t change the fact a full highlight to start the day is a good way to start the day.
That’s the SportsCenter generation in me. Morning highlights are right there next to morning coffee and a morning dump. The holy trinity of morning action.
In this case I think I’m just obsessed with the 2025 Cubs. I slept on it and decided I will let them own my soul for the next couple months. I completely surrender. I’m convinced it’s a team of destiny that’s going on a magical championship run and the rest of you guys are welcome to join me. No bullshit I really think this is the year.
Jed Hoyer has approximately 19 prospects to wheel and deal with when it matters most and Tom Ricketts still refuses to spend the $371,000,000 surplus he nets every year. At some point things are going to fall are way and I think it’s this trade deadline.
In other news:
- Today is Wednesday which means I run a lot of errands around route 47 including but not limited to the weekly grocery trip to a local farm, restocking raw materials for Sterk Family Farms and once a month I go to a natural pharmacy in Yorkville and buy Lionsmane in pill form. I could probably/definitely get it online but there’s a nice old lady that runs a family holistic pharmacy and I like to give her my literal business.
- I was hoping for a Cubs day game today to guarantee a sweep but I’ll settle for a 6:40 anyways. Including the pitch clock, I’m really enjoying the faster pace of games because it’s helping with my already disturbed sleep schedule
- Remind me to call the pavers and the lawncare guy today please

- I already logged about 4 miles on the step counter today which is why we’re publishing our wake up a little later today. My apologies. There’s plenty to talk about today I promise.
