Welcome back to CarlsBlogs.com.
Today is Tuesday March 11th and I wanted to kick things off with T.J. Oshie’ legendary shooutout performance for team USA against Russia in the 2014 Winter Olympics.
Why?
Because I made it clear yesterday that I just can’t get into hockey. I’ve tried and failed.
But have I tried hard enough?
Honestly?
Harder than most things I try at. Really. I’ve given a solid effort year after year to give a shit about the Stanley Cup playoffs and it never works, and I’m ALWAYS jealous.
This year I’m ramping it up. I want it to be different. I want to share in the passion and feel the joy that comes with exhilarating postseason sports. And nobody does it longer or better than hockey.
So it’s time I grow some balls, suck it up and enjoy the Stanley Cup Playoffs start to finish.
With that in mind, T.J. Oshie is a really good starting point for me coming out of the Minnesota High School All Hockey Hair Team announcements from yesterday. Start small then go right to one of the iconic moments. Come Thursday we’ll probably be watching MIRACLE (FULL MOVIE) to kick the day off.
On subject of which, if anyone has a bootleg copy – don’t be bashful reaching out to me. I could always use extra help sourcing free movies for the internet.
Until then, some other programming notes:
- Yesterday was a solid 1st day for CarlsBlogs.com with all the NFL news
- It really sucked having Twitter down for one of the best sports news days of the year
- Cubs are one week away from opening day
- Daylight(s) Saving(s) hour is really eating me up if we’re being honest. Normally I have no problem getting out of bed because I suffer from insomnia. But the wear and tear of losing an hour actually hit me pretty hard last night and I slept like a fuckin rock. So much that I’m a little groggy for the first time since maybe college
- Groggy = great word and extremely descriptive
- Trey Anastasio Accoustic – also one week away – and that’s awesome
Everyone have a great fucking day.
PS – Today’s Schedule:
- 9:30
- 11:00
- 12:30
- 2:00
- 3:30
- 5:00
- 6:30 – MILF
My suggestion is pick a playoff team and ride them. Getting into all of the NHL is hard but getting one team is easier. Right now Capitals are a fun watch plus Ovi, however no one believes in them. Panthers, Knights, and Stars are wagons. But F the Stars (sincerely, a Wild fan).
